Default Skid Plates for non JDM 4-1 Headers??

I'm not 100% sure but from what i've heard, the heatshield bolts up to and will only work on the Type-R JDM 4-1 header...i'm running the Toda header and just to be safe from scraping or from rock chips i was thinking about trying to use the bottom part of the heatshield for it. Does anyone know if it'll work, like bolt to the motor or would you have to fab something for it to either bolt to the header itself or to the motor? any advice will help...please help me keep my header as good looking as possible
-Ryan

There is no part of the block that you can bolt the heatshield to. How about zip-ties?

Or get one of the Fastline Racing skidplates and secure it on like this guy did:

I don't know exactly what those are that he used to secure it. Some sort of metal straps. I got the pic from this for sale thread.

hmm...

as far as those straps go... reminds me of the metel CV boot straps. You can buy the straps and rent the special pliers from Autozone etc.

You could always fab your own, it wouldn't be too hard with some skill.

only way i could see the skidplate working, is you do have to tack on some mounting tabs to the header. it wont affect the flow of the header at all if you tacked on some tabs for it to work.

Or you could find some stainless band straps like pictured above.

something like that can be made very easily by getting a thick enough piece of alum and bending it to match your header so you don't compromise alot of ground clearance. secure with said stainless band straps and you're set

Potholes, I'm sure a muffler shop can make you one if you don't want to make it by yourself.
