I bought a 94 ls swap and put it in my car and the tranny felt shorter than a ls. So I went to a local shop and took him for a ride and he said it was a ls but I was riding with a buddy that has a gsr and the rpms were pretty much the same. I checked two web sites and both say that the y80 is a gsr. What do you say?

i had a 95 ls tranny say y80. i now have a 95 gsr tranny and it also says y80.

take a cruise and if ure at 4500 rpms at 80 mph then u know its a gsr.

 

i have a gsr tranny but the third gear is out so i was lookin to replace it but i would prefer another gsr tranny, but if the ls is the same i have access to one immediatly.
