Default How would you guys repair this?

Hi, I tried a serach but nothing seemed to come up for this issue.
This is a EG6 with rear discs and ABS , i hit the curb during a spin and this has happened, thought it would be just LCA but turns out to be more

any opinions on how to fix it

Cheers Sam

well something like that would probably total out the car, from what i can see from the pictures it looks as if your best bet would be to cut out that sub frame part and weld in one thats not all bent

You scrap the parts, sell the interior, blow the car up, and take the insurance money, that's a lose

what are all of you talking about. there is no subframe in the rear. replace the LCA and then have it checked out. nothing too terrible atleast it doesnt look like it to me.

you're gonna have to get the subframe cut out and a new one welded in.

edit: and gonna need a new trailing arm too

A new subframe is a must, and lower rear arm, trailing arm, and a bunch of other things...

The problem is that Black EG6's in the UK with the B16a2 are rare to come by and it would be a shame to let it die.

I have most of the parts floating around in my garage such as LCA's, shockers, need to buy another stabalizer bar and my friggin tanabe got dented but its just the bent chassis bit i am worried about,

Ok, this subframe you guys are talking about.... will it be the complete frame from the left to the right or are you guys on about just cutting away the area that is bent and puzzle fit (weld) another carefully cut portion in.

whole subframe will need to be replaced. stretching from left to right. if you can fix one side, then tearing the subframe w/ a larger sway (roll) bar wouldnt be that big of a deal

You'll need to replace the rear cross member #33 on the pic. Its actuall not expensive, $130 or so. Labor I guess is what's going to take most of the cost. I'd try to save the car if possible. ABS EG6 are indeed rare.

its not a subframe unless its bolted to the unibody in my book. i guess you could call it a "subframe" but to me its part of the unibody. i cant tell in the pics if its bent or twisted, all i see is the lca.

Okay, his unibody is ******* ripped. There is no way to replace the lca, because the mount hole for it has ripped. A clearer picture would help a bit, but still. There is no way he can "just replace the rear lca, and have it checked out."

I would cut that part of the sub frame out as well as one from a car that isn't bent, then fit it together and weld it (make sure you reinforce it for saftey purposes), then put a new LCA, shock, strut, whatever else you need, but the wheel should be straight then...

would not "have a go at it myself". a rear clip for a civic is probably really cheap. i.e. all shipping cost. i could be wrong. or buy the 130.00 new one(above #33).

question: any damage up top.?shock area?upper arm/frame area?

if only subframe damage to car, and car is in ok shape, take it to a reputable welder at a place with a frame alignment machine(dont know technical term).
there is a place called bruce's super body shops that do stuff a lot worse than that every day. good luck and hope you get it fixed.
