Default 4th Gen Accord short shifters

Alrite, I have a question about the 4bidden Short shifter for the 92-96 Preludes and 5th gen accords. I want to fit one in my 4th gen Accord, a 1992 Accord EX sedan. I heard that the 4bidden shifter rubs and hits the center console, and eventually destroys it when using the stock accord shiftplate. I went out and got a prelude shift plate hoping that when used with a 4bidden Short shifter, that it won't hit the console anymore. Can anyone confirm this before me before I go out and buy the 4bidden shifter? And I am using my Accord shift cables with the prelude base plate, is there any problem with doing this? Should I go out and get Prelude shift cables? Thanks.

from what i have read using the prelude baseplate gets rid of the rubbing from the shifter.
