Default Regrinded Cams - Whats so bad?

Why does everyone say regrinded cams are bad, and not to buy them. Just wondering if I can get some understanding on this...

I'm not sure exactly...I think it has something to do with a smaller-than-stock base circle. I believe the base circle is what the lobe would look like if the part of it that lets the valve close was extended to make a complete circle. Hope that makes sense...

Maybe someone else can shed a little light on the subject.

Well I found a place that regrinds cams for 50 bucks... Thats why I am wondering. I mean I can buy some regrinded cams for like 300 or so, but I figure I can just get my cams regrinded for 50. They also lighten flywheels for 50.. Anyway, I dont know if those are good prices or not, but they seem pretty good.
