Default Finally ran my car, I'm happy :)

Finally got to run the 1/4 mile in my car for the first time since I got it. This was also my first time on a drag strip in almost 2 years. My runs were as follows:

15.35 @ 92.3
15.010 @ 92.7
15.2 @ 92.5

My hopes were to hit 15 flat or better, so I think I did alright. I was hoping to break 14's on that last run, but I'm so out of practice that I just got way too much wheelspin. My 60' on all those runs was in the 2.3-2.4 range R/T ranged from .6 to .9 or so. Overall, I'm happy, for one because I did well, and two because I didn't break anything in the process.

Wow, I guess OBDI DOES make a good difference over OBDII.

Not really for stock, I've seen OBDIIs do this.

He'll be pulling 14.8s-14.9s once we can get that launch down!

All I had was an intake with my run... so it's possible.

I just raced my '98 GSR for the third time last night. My car is totally stock except for the fact that I took off my air filter cover. Without it it makes a more burly sound, but I'm not sure it gives any power. Either way I ran an impressive 15.248 @ 90.13 and was tirehopping into second. Please lemme know if this is average, good, or amazing. I really appreciate it.

No, not average.

That is a pretty good time.
If you could post your slip I could help you out a little on what you can improve.

But 15.2 is good for a stock GSR. Couple bolts on's and a little more practice and 14's would be yours.

What did you launch your car at and what was your tire pressure?

My tire pressure was normal, and I launched at 4k. I forgot my gauge and didnt want to make one tire extremely low and the other higher.

When I launch, I actually launch at about 6k, and then feather the clutch. This get's you into vtec and your dual manifold runners alot quicker (and your power band), and it results in a low 2.2 60". But, the downside, is it is torcherous on the clutch (darn, i guess i get to replace that too).

As for times, stock on my crappy xgt's I did a 15.7, but I switched from a turbo talon and raced it 1 day after i bought it. I had it modified the next day. Now, with CAI, Dc 4-2-1, and exhaust, I do a 15.0 @ 91 mph. Not bad for a 4 door, but not great either. I plan on overhauling everything soon, new JDM header, Mugen exhaust and TODA A's along with some other misc crap.
