jdm front end?
i have decided to buy a jdm front end conversion for my 89 hatch. i would like to hear from someone that has purchased/installed one for info. i.e. where you got it, good service?, how much with shipping?, and ease of install. thanx
Well got mine from some guy in N.y. I traded him two 89 si doors and $300 for it. I got the doors for free, so I got my front for $300. But the only thing i don't have is the hood. I installed the front this week it was easy.
what all did you get? you have to have the sir hood to work with the sir headlights. i think i want to do it all or nothing. you have any pics of how it looks now?

hey i did my front end...its really easy...its all bolt on parts--the only thing you need to change is the front support bar that holds the hood latch and the bumper supports. it took me just 2 hours to take everything off and put everything on and redo the wiring (i'm a slow worker). let me know if you got any ?'s....

Thanks...

The WW kit would need to be modified a bit to fit the SiR headlights as they are a little longer than the USDM ones. For the hood you will need the hood latch piece or as many here call it... the upper rad support. it can be done but if you want to use the WW kit that you already have I would suggest getting the parts and getting a shop to carve out the space need on your bumper. I think I have a set of SiR headlights in stock if your interested.
do you need to weld the radiator support on like a type r front end??..or just bolt it on???..lemme kno...this is for a 2nd gen ef....thanks...with a ef8 front end....
hey clicc916 where did you get your conversion? your car looks perfect, what color is that? hard to tell but it looks like a burnt orange similar to what i am planning to paint my car, once i can locate a front end.
the upper radiator support is completely bolt on...its just that middle front piece that holds the hood latch. just take off the bolts and put in the jdm one...easy as pie. i do have visibility problems coz the lights seem to be adjusted too low...does anyone know how to adjust the jdm lights to angle upwards more?
rev-i got my front end from venus auto here in sacramento...the color is decieving at night time. its actually metallic inca gold pearl. it kinda looks like the 2001 civic coupe gold color but its more metallic looking
