are u getting it tuned? if u are then get the s2 if not dont worry about getting it. and IMO just go stage 2, stage 1 wont be such a noticeable gain as u would with 2.

With the cams and also with the intake manifold. you have to have your car tuned or your gaining NOTHING. I Have the stage 1's and the skunk2 manifold and really enjoy it. If you go with the manifold you should also get the thicker gasket as well.

Thats not entirely accurate. The accurate part is that you NEED to upgrade valve train ie: springs, retainers. This is becuase of the high lift.

The inaccurate part is that you need to upgrade pistons. This is wrong. You dont need to but it is recommended since you wont get as much hp as they predict. You could use flat face valves, mill the head and use a thinner gasket and get a little more compression for more power, but you dont have to. Sure the stg 1 will have a better low end, but high end is where the stage 2 will get more power.

That is why i am going to go with buddy club 3+ cams. GREAT midrange. I have talking about it for a long time but no money (Broke college student). They may have a lower peak hp number, but the midrange will more than make up for that. Thats the rpm i drive at mostly anyway. I dont always redline my car.

Ok, now to OP question. As everyone else pretty much said, go with the skunk IM since you are tuning it.

Also just a couple quick questions.
1.) Did you upgrade ur valvetrain? If you didnt, dont be pissed when a spring breaks and you drop a valve.
2) What else have you done so far? What Intake? What header? Cat? Catback? What is ur whp goal?

i have only type R valvesprings just for security but isnt the stage 1s are good for stock valvetrain if u keep it below 8200 rpm? i have skunk2 catback and DC header and a cheap intake my goal is to hit around 190whp

With what you got, youll be lucky to get 180 tops..at the most. You will be fine reving up to 8500, i wouldnt go over that.

i've heard from many people that the skunk2 manifold will lag a little somewhere in the powerband untill it hits 6k. would this be prevented by using VAFC to raise the VTEC to like 6k?
