2000 Honda Accord EX sedan:

I just wanted to post a quick "experience" I just had.

My SRS light came on, I reset it a couple times to see if it was a fluke. It came back on 1 week from, both times.

So I took it into the delaer. It was a faulty drivers side seat belt buckle.
Totally Free under the Lifetime seatbelt warranty.

I just bought a 1996 Accord EX and noticed the dash light for the SRS is not comig on at all. The manual says its supposed to light up when you first turn on the ignition.
Any reason why its not lighting up?

 

Did you carfax the car before you bought it?
It may have been in a wreck and they just disabled the airbags. it could just be a burnt out SRS bulb to.

if you bought it from a car lot , they have to fix it, it is a safety feature and cannot sell the car if air bags do not work,,, if it was from a private owner than you need to have it looked at .........
with key on, lite is suppose to come on for about 4 seconds and then shut off..

I sure didn't know.

Thanks for the post, I've got a 2000 accord too with the same problem.

 

Recall was correct. It has a problem in th wire harness under the left front seat
