traditional shock vs coilover shock
Thinking of getting coilovers. Do the shock in coilovers last as long as a traditional shock? If so, when it comes time to replace, do you have to replace the whole coilovers? It would be kind of expensive if so.
It depends on which company you go for.
Tein, for example, offers an overhaul service for their shocks, so you don't have to replace the shock.
Try calling around to whatever companies you're interested in and ask.
