Car sometimes wont go into first gear, so i figured ill put some fresh fluid in it
anyone know what fluid is the best to use for a car with this mileage?
I read somewhere on here that i shoudl use the gm pennzoil syncromesh stuff..

I've heard the syncromesh is good, never used it personally. Or just Honda MTF.
I do believe it's something like 1.9 quarts, so just buy 2 quarts and stop when it's full.

That looks like the right stuff, I've never used it so I'm not sure.
You fill it up until it starts coming out of the fill hole.
Here's a picture of how it should look.

he man, i had the same problem with first gear sometimes not working. i have 210,000 miles on mine, and a couple weeks after i noticed the problem my shift rod inside my tranny broke.

i have trouble putting mine into first too, like at a stop light, reving the engine to about 1k or 1.5k usually lets it slide right in.
188k with original fluid (YAh yah i know, i need to change it
)
if this fixes the problem, please post it

I think only 4th gen accords have this problem, but the drain and fill bolts do NOT come off for anything. Make you you can get the fill bolt off first, then remove the drain bolt. You wouldn't want to remove drain bolt first, then find out you can't get the fill bolt off.
My car (1989 Acura Legend 5 speed manual) was kind of crunchy (technical term
) between gears so I changed the fluid in the transmission with Castrol Syntech 0w-50 and my transmission now shifts better than my 2003 Civic Si ever did.
