How to Remove an RSX Shift ****?

I am trying to remove one off a friend's car to put on an aftermarket one. What's the trick? TIA

you rotate it counter clockwise

How do you take a shift **** out of a DC2?

The silver collar on the top of the boot is sort of clipped onto the base of the ****, just pull down on that to get the boot off the ****. Then unscrew cc.
