What are your guys' opinions on this jacket? Anyone have any experience with it?



I've currently got a frank thomas leather strike jacket. It fits fine, looks fine, breathes great, and i got it for cheap. On the down side, the velcro near the zippers is poor, some seems are already showing threads (only worn for about 3 months), makes me look like aluminum foil (it's silver), and it's frank thomas.
I love honda, and i wouldn't mind sporting a jacket that said honda on it
Plus, the zip in pants for the frank thomas are atroscious and i couldn't wear them without them cutting the inside of my knees. It'd be nice to have a jacket like that honda one with the potential for good zip in pants. I've got a motogp 1-piece roo-suit but i'm thinking it probably won't get worn as much as i originally hoped.

To sum it up: Is this jacket worth getting? Are the speedmaster pants any good/comfortable? Would it be bad to have honda slapped on a jacket in case (for some reason) i switch brands in a year or so?

not bd looking. First "brand" jacket i like.

 

if you switch bikes - there goes the jacket too, but if you gonna stick with HT then go for it.

speedmaster jacket is nice if you're lookin at joe rocket. A* always has wonderful products.

what's your budget? if you're lookin for like patches on a jacket peep Icon

 

nah, i'm not going for the whole sponsored look, i just like honda, and this jacket isn't outrageously covered in patches. I've just heard negative things about joe rocket on multiple forums.
I don't have a budget, if i decide not to get this jacket, then i will just keep the frank thomas. I mostly buy gear when it's a ridiculous deal, i might make an exception for this honda jacket. If not, i'll wait it out and look for a good deal on a motogp jacket, because i've tried them on and their pants, and they both fit great.

 

I've had a JR Speedmaster for two years and I haven't had any problems with it. I also have a Phoenix mesh, and besides the slight frazzled edges near the velcro, the jacket has held up well too. Their gloves, however, haven't held up as well.

Since the color scheme fits your bike, I say go for it.

 

To me the Joe ocket stuff is the only brand that doesnt over due their jackets and pants with "extra" ****...like ICON. I just like that the Joe Rocket stuff is smooth.

 

well now i'm noticing that the CBR honda jacket is not perforated, but the HRC one is perforated. But the HRC one doesn't have a liner, and the CBR one does. The CBR jacket does have zippable breathing sections in the arms, but i'm not sure if that'll do it for me.
My frank thomas is perforated in the front and has mesh panels in the arms and it breathes incredibly well. Comparing these jackets to the motogp apex jacket i read that the motogp jacket is entirely perforated on the front, and i've tried on both motogp jacket and pants and they fit extremely well, where as i have not tried on the JR stuff. Similar prices it looks like. The only difference i can see is that the motogp jacket doesn't have a back insert, or one available, while both the frank thomas and JR do. Hmmmmm. To ride with the honda logo, or not?

 

as far as joe rocket quality - hayden rode joe rocket till he moved to MotoGP - Mladin rocks Joe - he left AGV.

if it wasn't quality they wouldnt be used in all the major races. - I mean if you take a spill its going to get fscked up and you may have to reapair some of it, but thats with ANY leather.

 

the quality was the biggest thing in question for me, because i don't know anybody that rides with it. Right now it's seeming more practical to get the motogp strictly because it DOESN'T say honda on it, which was the main thing that allured me to the JR jacket in the first place. I'd just hate to spend all this money on a jacket and then a year or two down the line end up riding something else and hate myself for having the honda jacket.
I'd just feel bad for having a motogp roo 1-piece and a motogp 2-piece, i don't know why. Just seems like i should pick one or the other. I guess when i start riding again i'll have to see how much the 1-piece gets used.

all black can get hot just an FYI - from riding around with my jacket its black / grey it can get hot int he summer time to the point i don't wear it

new enough if incredible they also just require you to pay shipping to return - my joe rocket speedmaster 1 pc was too small, and when i called they shipped a new one and 2 days later i had 2 suits obviously i returned the other one

 

does anyone know of any good places to post gear for sale?
If i can sell this Frank thomas jacket then i'll definitely get something else.

craiglist, forums, that's really about it.

gear never retains it value, so good luck in the sell.
