I have wheels with two old style azenis and two ziex's. I am going to be trying some autox/road course stuff this year with my dc teg.
I want to replace the ziex's with 2 azenis, but can only get the new style ones. How much will performance be effected if I rock two new style azenis and two old style azenis? I dont want to buy all four new school ones...

Huh?
I would just buy two new Azenis and run them in the front with the older Azenis in the rear.

The general advice not to mismatch tires is because it can make the handling unpredictable. However, the more similar the tires are in performance, the less you have to worry about.
The old Azenis and new Azenis are close enough in performance on dry pavement that you shouldn't have any concerns. When it's wet, though, the new Azenis (RT-615) are going to stick much better than the old Azenis (RT-215), which means you can expect oversteer (the back end to come around) if the new Azenis are on the front, and understeer (plow straight ahead) if the old Azenis are on the front.
Go ahead and mix 'em. Just make sure the tires on each axle match (i.e. RT-215 on the front and RT-615 on the rear, or vice versa). And take it REALLY easy if you're using them on wet pavement.

I like to get full wear out of my tires, so I would rotate them front to back during their lifetimes, to even out the tire wear. Just be careful in the rain...
