You should be okay with only a 1.3" drop. I think the rule of thumb is 2.0" or lower is when you should look into a camber kit.

i would put on a camber kit because if you are gonna be taking everything off anyways, it won't be that hard, and if your spings sag or anything even a slight negative camber will give you uneven wear -

yea that is a good stance, looks real good without having to worry about tire rub... but is it necessary to get the car aligned with that small of a drop?

no matter what when you lower your car you need a camber kit because when you lower it you get camber but when you dont lower it that much like only an inch then the tire wear from the camber wont be so bad so you wont really have to worry about it.

toe causes the wear on the tires, not the camber. make sure you get it alligned regardless of how low you end up going.

Camber does cause wear and if you think it doesnt then you are pretty darn stupid... toe causes wear also but when you lower a car it usualy doesnt get tow in or out... it usualy doesnt get tow in or out untill you install the camber kit... thats when you need an alignment.

first of all, its toe. second of all, go tell this to the people in the suspension forum and watch them laugh at you.

i had 17's on my old gsr and i looked great slammed about 2 inches in front and 1.75 in rear my wear wasnt too bad as long as i got my toe adjusted every so often.

you should consider it.

Do some more research. If you a lower a Honda and do not get it aligned, the reason the tires wear so fast is mostly because the toe is out-of-spec, in addition to a little negative camber. The nature of 1990's Honda suspension geometry causes toe as well as camber to change as the suspension moves up and down. When the front suspension is lowered, the steering tie rods pull inwards and cause the front tires to toe out. This causes MAJOR tire wear if the front toe is not aligned properly.

Some negative camber is, in most cases, a good thing in terms of better handling and roadholding. Why do you think race cars run so much negative camber? Of course that much isn't suitable for street use. However I myself have never had a camber kit on my car, and I used to run as much as -2.7 degrees camber in the front, and was still able to get 30K+ miles out of a set of Yokohama ES100 tires. This is because I kept the toe settings in check and rotated my tires every 5K miles.

In most cases for street use, I wouldn't bother with a camber kit, unless you're running -2.5 camber or more, or unless you want to dial in specific settings for racing purposes.

In short, in the ~120K miles since I first lowered my car, I've worn through 3 sets of tires, and 1/2 way through a 4th set. Most of that time my car has always had -2 deg. camber or more, and has never had a camber kit. If you still think a camber kit is necessary well... it's your money to waste.
