Ok this is from the cupholder thread in here. Someone linked this page. I having problems understanding what the original origins of this car is. I mean its glass top, which Ive never seen in Europe before and only in Japan, but then again its LHD which meanst it is not from Japan.

But it clearly has JDM door panels, because I have the same ones on my EF8 and it has the Kanji above the power window swithes and I know 100% that the EDM ones didnt come with that, but the controls are on the left side aswell.

But then again he has the OEM DOHC VTEC decals on the side of the car which seem worn from age and those didnt come in North America. What the hell is going on here. This car is so confusing. LOL

So here is what Im thinking either it is a JDM CRX that he converted to LHD, or he installed a glass top onto a USDM CRX and then modified the door panels and got an EDM LHD power window kit for the car.





Anyone have information on this car? It looks really nice.

IIRC, that's a USDM car with JDM doors. I don't see any glass top, I see a sunroof.

 

its usdm, funny how he has two driver door power window switches. There was an article about this car and its twin in some magazine not too long ago

yeah i got the mag with that car there is another one just like it to usdm all the way but they payed close attention to teh jdm'ness

 

From the pics it doesn't have a glass roof. It has a sun roof. Just a JDMed out USDM Si.

 

Did the center consoles change during the years or is that one made for a RHD car?
My 88 has te lighter on the passenger side. It looks like it slopes toward the passenger side also. I still like it though...

 

Funny that he's got a bumper pole switch and no bumper pole.

That center console can't be made for a RHD car, Doodoo...it'd be angled the wrong way.

I see it now. Took me awhile, and I look at mine every day!!

 

Its a USDM car stripped down and redone with all JDM etc, it has a twin, both have glassroofs done by a shop in the Bay area

 

Hackjob. A nice one at that...but it's just another modified CRX.

Look at photo #2!! It's not a glass-top. At least wasn't at the time the photos were taken.

I'd also guess that they used the power window switch from an EDM car for the left hand side. They kept the "master" switch on the right hand side to hide the hole in the door panel that would be visable if the panel is a JDM one. Two master switches for the windows, that's just wrong for a "company" show car!!!

Anywho that is neither here nor there. Very clean car and it is unanimous this car is USDM.

I see what happend ..crxforum posted the wrong car..I think he ment to post the twin witch has the glass roof..But yeah either way its just a usdm crx with all the good stuff on it..I still dont get why the guy didnt just find and buy a real sir or euro crx vtec..

Maybe he did..There's a shitload of people that convert skylines to left hand drive over in the emirates (but they have to) ..And Ive seen some in usa at some car shows..

Its Ben and Stans car... they were at last years crxpo... they have glass roofs now, thats correct. A shop built the cars for them... I guess they never heard of euro lhd window switches
