Pulling out a dented exhaust. Possible?
I have a Kakimoto exhaust on my EF8 and I want to see if it is possible to pull it out. The car bottomed out a lot in JDM land and is dented in about an inch or so in some places.
Anyone ever done this before or have suggestions on how to pull it out? Maybe one of those dent pullers will work. Just trying to see if it is possible because I cant afford a new one and I like the looks of the one I have now. I just want to hear the original tone of it when it was new, right now it is really quiet and I like that. I want to know if it originally was like that.

Well where should I put this? I looked in tech, welding and fab, and both of them had nothing exhaust related as far as pulling out dents. Since people talk in this forum about dents in car bodies all the time, I thought since the muffler was dented it might be answered here aswell.

good point.
this may not be the best idea, but and idea none the less. btw, i dont think this would work well if it is chrome/polished/whatever unless you dont mind messing up the finish.
you could weld a few metal rods to the area and then pull the dent out with those rods. i have no idea if this will restore performance, but you could get the dent out

depending on how strong the metal is, you could possibly buy/rent/find a stud welder like the body shop uses, weld the stud to the dent and pull it out with a slide hammer just like you would a dent on a car, might take some more work since its tubbing and alot stronger than a fender or whatever

just throwin out ideas, but if the dent is in one location, you could possibly drill a hole on the other side of the muffler, stick a rod down there and try to hammer it out from the top? then weld the hole back in?
