help revive my car!
So after i bought my prelude a couple months ago, i've been completely neglecting my 93 DA, and last night decided to do something about it to try to sell it. The battery was dead (of course), so after i got a jump and let it sit idle for a while, i took it around town and drove it for about half an hour. After parking back in front of my house, I turned off the engine then tried to start it again to see if the battery was now charged, and... nothing. all the console lights come on but it doesn't seem like theres enough juice to start the engine.
so my question is... is it possible that the battery is so dead that its beyond recharging? Or do I need to replace my alternator because thats whats not charging the battery? The car ran perfectly while I was driving it so my thought was that it couldn't be the alternator.
Any help appreciated, Thanks

I would put a trickle charger on it over 24hrs and maybe you can revive the battery.
to check if its the alt jump the car again and pull off a battery cable. if the car runs its not the alt. if it stalls replace the alt.

if you've got lights, but nothing when you try to start (like it doesn't even crank), then it's probably ignition related as opposed to a battery issue.

exactly. But if it still does nothing, then it's something with your ignition.

I guess I should have given more detail... I get dash lights on and then they slowly fade away (and then completely die as the engine tries to crank, and then the crank dies too), so it looks like the battery is just out. plus if it was ignition related, the engine wouldn't turn on even with a jump would it? I had no problems with turning on the engine with a jump from the tow truck.
So to test if its the alt I should pull off a battery cable while the car is still running to see if it stalls it? Guess I'll have to try that tonight...
[EDIT: Is it possible for the alternator to be fully functional to keep the car running, but just unable to recharge the battery?]
Thanks
