Taken from the FAQ.
The offset of a wheel is the distance from its hub mounting surface to the centerline of the wheel. You *should* be able to get away with an offset between +35-45. More info: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.jsp

A +35 offset will stick the wheels out farther then a +41.
I would go with a +41 offset, but with the right amount of camber you should be able to run a +35 offset without a problem.

Over here we use +41 on the front with 215/50-15 or 205/50-15 tires and +35 on the rear with 205/50-15 or 195/50-15 tires. +35 on the rear will give a wider stance.

He has a fwd car. If he did get different offsets for front and rear he should put the lower offset in the front.

Ummm... I have a front wheel drive Honda too.
My old setup:
Hayashi Racing center locks
Front: 15x6.5 offset 50 225/50-15 BFG & 215/50-15 ADVAN A048
rear: 15.x6.5 offset 38 195/50-50
No scrubbing in the front or rear and I had max width.
New setup:
Regamaster EVO
Front: 15x7 offset 40 225/50-15 BFG's (drag)
Front: 15x7 offset 40 215/50-15 ADVAN A048 (street)
rear: 15x7 offset 35 195/55-15 ADVAN A048 (and DNA S-Drive)
The only way to use offset +35 on the front without scrubbing REALLY bad is to use 15x8.5 wheels.

The wheel stagger that you run looks pretty cool, but from a handling standpoint, a non-staggered, or your stagger reversed would yield better performance.
I wasn't running a stagger for looks. I was running a stagger so I could fit the tires of my choice in the fender while having the widest stance possible.
Oh yeah..... and handling IS superb on my setup

Me... owned.
That's cool. I would think having a wider track width up front would promote better handling, but I still run stock rims so what do I know.

15x7 +41 rims in the front with 225/50-15 tires is actually wider than 15x7 +35 rims with 195/50-15 tires in the rear
So is my theory of wider up front correct? I am curious. I am still learning about wheels, and staggering for my setup. I still don't know if I will stagger my wheels.

i wouldn't do it. it will make rotating your tires a PITA.

If your suspension/tire combo and ALIGNMENT is setup properly you will get a longer lifespan from the tires. Dropped car with an improper toe setting will wear the tires faster that running -10* of camber.
tire rotation... bwahahahhahahaha
tire rotation... bwahahahhahahaha
sorry but i wasn't talking about alignments. just the fact that front tires wear more then rear tires.
I rotate my tires at least once weekend, depending on what track im at.

oh crap, i never even thought of that
very good point

i think that having lower offset up front would improve handling. thats the setup GM has on their Grand Prix GXP. they say that running a wider track up front than in the back made their 303 hp FWD car more rotatable through the twisties. i kinda believe them.

You need to get a dedicated set of track tires and wheels. I know this is hard for you to believe but you will save money in the longrun and get longer life from your street tires.
Oh yeah, you need to think about ALIGNMENTS because an improper alignment with destroy a set of tires on a track with ease. An improper alignment will also cause instability issues.

Wow sorry to bring this back from the dead but DEE is wrong, you'd want to run the +31's in the front if you have a staggered setup.... hopefully 6 years later he understands why.
wow, I can't believe people went grave robbing just to post something dumb.
bwahahaha... H-T has definitely gone to the toilet!
