Default In a rut.. need some help

so just recently i blew a hole in a piston in my turbo d16z6.
I am leaving for school in april so i need a quick fix.
What would you guys suggest, just pulling the dseries out and putting in a b series or maybe an h22 and selling the turbo stuff.

or

buying say another d16z6 or d15b or something to just get my car running, and keep the turbo kit and build the motor i blew up. then once i have it all built, throw that once back in there

just let me know your thoughts

thanks
nick

don't bother rebuilding a blown block. i got my z6 for 350 bucks, whoopity do. Just pick up 2, swap 1 in, and builder the other.

thats why i love running 400-500whp d series setup... these kids buying b series swaps for 3 grand, and having 160whp, or dumping 3 grand into a d series and getting 400.. shrug

sounds like you're using it as an everday driver..

If u want to race it, I'd go with the old setup (get ur hands on another D16Z6)

If it's ur every day car I'd get the H22 or B18 swap and sell ur turbo (and turbo equipment, wastegate, blowoff, manifold, etc... accessories) - Something that pulls hard with lots of stock HP, so you can run on na without having to put lots of work into getting it to run decent..

It's all up to you though

I agree with the 1st 3 posters. Just find a Z6 bottom end and put it in the car.

Then again, if everyone keeps taking up the D series blocks for the boosted D projects and keeps blowing them up there's going to be a shortage of Z6 blocks, making them more expensive.

Go spend the extra money and swap. j/p

Find a good Crome Pro or Hondata tuner. Search for "Tuner Directory" in the FI forum. There's a list of tuners, by state, in there.

right now im leaning towards just putting a stock motor back in the civic, keeping the turbo for some later build.
and putting the money i have now into the s2k

Just drive the S2000 in your sig

For the actual question though I'd just spend the money and get another D16Z6 and with the money you saved versus a swap build the bottom end and get it tuned properly.

Got cheaper and quicker. SOHC. Have boost this summer then take out your boost controler and blow it up right before you leave.
