It's actually a pretty good HU for $200, lots of features.

It is not Alpines entry level HU, that would be the CDE-9842, then the CDE-9846 and the CDE-9852, the CDA-9820XM is the next in line and the price almost doubles @ $400 US. 94

yeah thats because you dont need the KAC-420i anymore, the fast cable ipod feature is now built in on the CDA series decks. all you need is that able now for 30.

For the price, it's hard to beat, especially when you weigh in the $30 cable.

If you don't have an iPod, of course, go with the 9846 instead and save a few bucks.

Its a hot seller at bestbuy. I can barely keep it in stock. Its a very nice unit. I like the full speed cable also because of course its the fastest ipod connection out there and it leaves the ai-net plug open for xm or sirius.

Worst case you got a bad hu or cable. Dont want to sound like a dick. I know guys dont read the man. so just want to know if your doing it right.

Press the button that has the 3 papers on it. (in the middle of the up/down arrows)
use the scroll to pick inbetween playlist, song, art. etc...(Aka Volume ****)
Use the left and right arrows to pick the song
then hit play.

i figured it out , i read the manual and tried to follow , what the manual DOESNT say , is that you have to take it out of mix mode , i didnt even know it was on lol . but you have to take it out of mix mode to access the songs and playlists.
