no i don't have any pics of mine..i don't have time to take pics of it. but i think the hid shields are suppose to block the light from reflecting of the top of the housing so it wonn't blind the **** out of ppl.cuz you know the reflector housings like in my moms 96 TL, the light scatters everywhere, so i think the HID shield prevents it from shining to the top and reflecting it to the drivers (so it won't blind them) so it will just shine it on the the road instead.
"HID Shield for H4. This adapter allows the D2S or the D2R HID bulb to be used on a standard H4 headlamp housing, such as motorcycle or aftermarket automotive style housing. Has correct beam alignment shield to project light from the HID lamp to the road, eliminating upward glare. Perfect low beam disbursement is achieved with a clean cut-off point. Price is for SINGLE unit, order two for cars, one for motorcycles. Does not include D2S bulb, ballast or wiring. payment due in 5 days, payments received after 7 days require a $15.00 late fee."-eBay

H4 bulbs are the absolute WORST for putting an HID kit onto. There is so much awful glare and the light output is pretty bad.
If you get a casper shield it WILL help...but it will be nowhere near the perfection of a real HID retrofit and you'll end up spending over 300 on it when you could spend 400, get a real HID retrofit setup from hidplanet.com, and then have it retrofitted for a few hundred bucks.

I agree about the h4 housing... because now I have a teg.. in the 9006 projector housing HID's look sooo much better and a better cut off and output than the civic housing if I ever went back to a civic housing I may think about the retro fit

Yes you have to retrofit them (modify the headlights to accomodate projectors) in to the car. It's more expensive but much better and mroe reliable in the long run.
Kits burn out easier and fry your harness easier than a real retrofit.
It also produces buttloads of glare and an extremely annoying and unregulated beam pattern.
I spent 250 on a McCulloch HID kit for my Accord and I got rid of it because I didnt want to worry about glare or tickets. I lost a lot of money figuring out it wasnt worth it...

please do not put in a kit. it will be terrible glar, and that may attract the attention of cops. also kits are really poor quality, the ballasts dont last long, and the harnesses are cr@p. trust me if u arent willing to do a retrofit stay halogen. retrofitting aint that bad, i did mine in less then 48 hours. alot of time... yes, fun... yes, and its a great thing to know how to do and there is a great pride u have when u are finished.

well hwat projectors do you have?
If theyre aftermarket they'll be more than likely crap on light output.
If theyre halogen projectors they WILL work but they're not pretty nor is it recommended. You dont get the clear cutoff like you would with a real retrofit

would a none retrofited hid kit look something like this..
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1414964
just the headlights

just the headlights
yea, theyd look pretty glary. And if you looked at the ground, it would be lit up unevenly, with splotches here and there, and it would also fan out to the side. I've done it, no bullshitting, i know its not worth it anymore
