Is there a limit? I'm assuming that too thick and you'll need a different timing belt.....

But is it possible to go from stock 10.6:1 to 9.6:1?

.....uhh it's for a "friend."

You think I'm gonna turn in the towel now that I have spec b's, spec c's, toda header and hytech header?

Hrm... maybe if I sell the b's and toda header I can pay for a turbo kit.....

Seriously though, the beater needs some b00st!

I believe dropping compression to 9.6:1 is doable with stock timing belt. I have the HKS headgasket(2.6mm) and I was told that it drops compression to ~9.5:1 and I still have a stock timing belt. But my compression may be even lower then 9.5:1 b/c when I use compression ratio calculators they say I have 9:1 compression. But I am not sure if the calculators are accurate.

HKS makes thicker headgaskets for lowering compression, although they cost about $550.00

i don't think you'll need a different timing belt because you tighten it down with the tensioner

Wow, that's like .7 of a point!

Any way you can run an even thicker headgasket to bring 11.1:1 to 9.5 or so?

http://www.inlinepro.com makes gaskets for FI apps that lower CR to 9.0 to 1 for a few different motors i think.
