After changing the timing belt, cap and rotor, the 89 prelude I'm working on has improved but will not rev higher than 5000 rpm. previously, it would not go beyond 3000 rpm. the belt had jumped a tooth and the cap and rotor were trashed. I can apply about 1/4 throttle and get gradually up to 5000 rpm but any more throttle and the engine bogs and rpm drops off. the fuel filter is new and there are no codes on the cpu. could it be the fuel pump? I have no gauge to check it. Any other ideas? Thanks for all your help so far! Even the guy that wanted to race me!
