What do you do with the Prelude 'donor' axles during an H22 swap? Do you discard them and use your Accord axles or is it best to use the Prelude axles? Would you then have to use the 5-lug hubs for a Prelude as well?
As you can tell, I'm confused. I've looked around for this information and I haven't found anything relevant to H22's.

5G Prelude axles are longer than 4G Prelude (VTEC) axles.
My 4G Accord hybrid needed 4G Prelude axles. Accord axles are useless to me. I do not know what generation you Accord is, nor which axles other generation Accord hybrids require.

 

They are interchangeable then? Cool. Should I upgrade the axles as long as the motor and trans are out of the car or are the stock Accord axles stout enough to handle the H22?

sorry, I missed your post. I don't have it yet, but it will be a 5th gen wagon when I get it.

 

From what i've been seeing and what i've done, 5th gen Accord, 98 H22A needs the Accord axles and half shaft. now if it was a 93-96 H22A then it might use the H22A axles, not really sure about it.

 

all hybrid swaps need accord axles and intermediate shaft. end of story.

 

 

really 4door. that is interesting.... what intermediate shaft you using? i know that the outer teeth on the lude axles are too small to fit into the accord hub. ive tried, and it just spins inside there. did you convert your hub & rotor setup?? i have a 4th gen also with 95 h22, thats why im wonderin. i know a shop did your sawp, so just makin sure for info purposes

 

well, my 4th gen accord re-used my accord axles, as did my roommate's 5th gen. both cars have 94 motors.

 

i switched to prelude axles on my accord. they hold up better to nitrous launches.

I have prelude axles too. My motor is 95 and my car is 94. But i do have a problem with my bearings going bad, could this be the reason?

 

well, i've had the accord axles for exactly a year with no problems. lots of track launches, autocrosses. . . my roommate had a 270 hp accord hybrid on accord axles and no problems, with a quaife, etc. . . just my opinion.

 

Oh whoa this is an old thread. Yeah I was totally wrong I have Accord axles and intermediate shaft.
4th gen Prelude axles/int shaft are supposedly identical except have a male end on the int shaft and a female end on the inside of the driver-side axle.

 

I have a 95 accord ex and a 95 JDM prelude motor with LSD. I am using the prelude axles and have not had any problems yet.
