What's your fuel pressure at idle?
What's your fuel pressure at idle? I just got my swap out of the shop 2 weeks ago on my 90 Accord and going through the break in. I don't know why but my fuel pressure gauge is on 70 psi at idle. My engine mods are AEM CAI 3 inch, fuel reg, fuel rail, MSD 6AL w/Blaster 2 coil, Type-S Cams, Skunk2 cam gears, .25 OB Type-S pistons, Eagle rods, Clutch Masters stage III clutch w/ 8lbs flywheel , Mugen reprogam ECU, Apex'i V-AFC, DC headers, and Brullen cat back exhaust. Thanks Guys.

70 psi of fuel at idle? Does your car even idle well with such a large amount of fuel pressure? Maybe your fuel gauge is defective. That is way too much fuel pressure. I have mine set at 35 psi right now. The highest i have used is 40 psi.

70 at idle? you get what, 8 mpg?
I'm running a walbro 342 FP. B&M FPR (hate it) and I'm at 42psi. Still a tad rich, but the VAFC pretty much takes care of me.

I great pretty good gas mileage beleive it or not. I mean half a tank I got about 200 miles. I think my gauge is wrong I will try another one. Thanks for the help guys Long time no see.
mines set at 40psi at idle and about 48 at full throtle.
i think that 50psi at idle should be good enough for ur setup. I find that if the fuel is set to rich the car runs slugish

I'm going to lower the fuel pressure and install the new fuel pressure gauge this weekend. I talked to the shop that did the build up and they said that the car idled rough when they lowered the pressure. I'm going to lower it myself to see if that is the case. Hopefully I don't have bad injectors. I checked the plugs, distributor, ignition system and they are just fine. Any suggestions?

Ok I guys I lowered to fuel to 45 psi and the car is dog slow. When I give it gas, the car doesn't go anywhere and sounds like it wants to die. It obviously needs more fuel. I set it back to 70 and everything is fine even though I know that's way to high. Does this mean my injectors are bad? Are there ways to test the injectors without taking them out? Thanks
That seems very strange. I had the same setup and yours except I was using the stock fuel rail with Aeromotive FPR and I had my settings at 38 idle. My car would run rich and my Hydro Carbon count was always excessive.. So to me either you have a bad gauge or something isnt installed properly.. I believe that stock FP is like 42 so anything from 36 to 45 should be good for you at idle..
Definately have it checked out though, becase with all that money you have spent you dont want to damage anything especially if its an easy fix.
BTW, what fuel rail are you using, and is it the Accord or Prelude one??

i think the gauge might be broken
my friends was doing the same thing dieing whenever we changed the
fuel pressure.
we also replaced the fuel pump along with the gauge

For the accord or the prelude.. I believe there were fitment problems with the fuel line being on the opposite side or somthing??
And I doubt its your injectors, like i said recheck everything over again it sounds like your gauge may just be off or not secured properly.. I remember when I lowered FP to like 32 psi I would get a dog like idle and response from the car as well, so it seems to be working just not sending the right readings..
Also, changing your Fuel Pump is also a recommendation that I will make because you have to remember that its been in there for just about over a decade. I felt a much better response when I change out mine.. Bosch will probably be your best bet..

Well I changed the gauge still the same ****. I have nothing else to test but the injectors. Is there a way to check if I have to right injectors installed? My engine was converted from OBD2 to OBD1. I should have OBD1 prelude injectors but you never know shops now a days like to screw people over.
