Default **A Noobtron's first turbo**

hello masters of fabrication. recently i started putting together my first turbo setup. due to me being a poor college student i decided to fab some stuff instead of not eating. here is my mani (with compressor attached).

ive measured the manifold and turbo and found that i do have plenty of room i just need to hack that bigass tab off the front of the turbo. anyways what do you guys think? please give me some advice as i dont actually know anybody who has turboed a car.

It looks like the turbo's gonna hang pretty low. You might have oil return issues.

yea... **** gets dangerously low with the return using an HF and an adapter plate.

That setup will place the return waaay to low.

Unfortunately, everything said about the return being too low is true. You will have to rethink your manifold plans Buy a cast iron log manifold from greddy or a private fabber etc for about $150 bux. This is your best / cheapest solution.

You cannot rotate the center housing more then about 35 degrees, or the oil will not flow through properly, that is why it is too low. You would be at almost a 90 degree tilt with that setup. You could run an inline pump after the housing and into the pan that way, but then you have to work with getting the pump to run at the right pressures and the cost of the pump would bust your budget alone.

lsdmotorsport has a diy log mani you can buy and weld together for 120 shipped...I do appluad your effort, but it might very well be too low and blow the seals in the turbo....just my 2 cents.

i apologize for my outburst and did eventually find out that this wouldnt work in its original configuration and after some advice and help from HMT not HONDUH TECH, i redid the mani so here you go.

the guy who was kind enough to help me with some pics and measurements did the same thing and showed me a pic of it mocked up on a block.

so i cut and rewelded and now it should work (mine on the right)

i still hate you
