Default Heat question

The heat temp is controlled by a thermostat correct? And your supposed to change the thermostat every once in awhile to get the best heat?

Not only Heat (very important today in New England (18deg in Providence 2day) but summer cooling as well.
Figure every 3-4 years. Equally important is to have the cooling system flushed from time to time. A brown mud can form in seriously neglected cooling systems which can cause system blockages and reductions in the heater core efficiency.
