i have a 90 civic si im getin a code 17 vss it was giving me the code when i was obd0 and now im obd1 and still getting the code im guessin im goin to have to change my vss .i have a j1 tranny can i use a single cam vss ??. and where do i run the three wires and wat can i do to make my cluster work whit the obd1 vss?? help me please

I am OBD0 w/ a d15b7 and 91 CRX Si Tranny and I get the VSS code/CEL too. free up to see what anyone has to say about this.

 

could be bad wiring at the gauge cluster. In the mechanical speedo cable years, like the one you have, the cable goes to the back of hte gauge cluster, and the signal goes from there to the ECU. Since you are obd-1 I would check to make sure the VSS signal is properly reaching the ECU.
