Default Will ZC trans fit 88 Si motor?

I have a 88 CRX that has some transmission problems. I am in need of a transmission and am wondering what my options are...the ZC seems to be cheaper than the Si and I was just wondering if it would fit!
Thanks!

i`m not sure but i`m going to say no... cus to run the zc tranny you need the innermetate shaft and i don`t think it will bolt to the si block.. but the tranny should fit just you can`t get axles to work..but like i said i`m not sure.... anyone else think this is so..

The ZC tranny should bolt up to a D16 block. I'm using a CRX Si tranny on my ZC. But like you said there is going to be a difference with the axles. I'm not 100% sure but the 88-89 integra axles should work. Can anyone confirm this?

you'd use 90-93 teg axles I believe....but I dont think the si block has a means to support the intermediate shaft....

So, the best thing to do is get a 88 Si trans. Isn't the 89+ Si transmission different from the 88? Anybody have all of the different transmission codes?
Thanks again!!!

You can't get support for the intermediate shaft on a D16 block, so that will not work. The only difference between 88 and later year Si transmissions is the spline count on the mainshaft, so if you change years, make sure to get an matching flywheel/clutch assembly. They are all labled L3 on the case, so they're nearly impossible to tell apart.
