a buddy of mine has been making thise things for years. i finally got mine. 2000 CBR 600 F4 injected 4trax! lemme tell you it is sick! if any of you guys are interested in one (R1 powered banshee, turbo R6 banshee etc) let me know. his site should be up shortly.
What quad chassis does the CBR motor fit in? The one in the pic is a 400ex, and those run, new, around $5K+ .
Also, I assume *a lot* of welding/fabrication is involved, because there is no way this even close to being a bolt-on affair.
That would be a cool dunes bike, but I can't see the CBR motor being good in the woods or on trails. Plus, I know it adds some weight to the overall package.

no, it's a fourtrax with 400ex plastics. and yes, good assumption. a lot of fabricating is involved. this one is nothing compared to the other ones. the R1 powered 500 quadracer was awesome! i think it sold on ebay for $8,000.
oh, thanks darth and anton, my OLD car is nice isn't it?

Only thing I'd be afraid of, since it is a weld-in job, is him getting all of the geometry correct (chain, sprokets, swingarm, suspension travel, etc).
If you could find an old (but straight) 250X frame and a wrecked CBR, then it wouldn't be a bad deal I guess.
However, I've been able to get plenty of power out of a stock 300ex motor though
