Need help with acquired SSRs (GP-0)
Ok. So my girl's brother has this old DA that was modded up back in the day, white interior and all (puke) but thats a different story... Anyway so he's had this 16" SSR's on it since I've known them and he's always told me there was "something wrong with the lugs" that always pissed off shops when they had to change tires or brakes, but I'd never cracked open the caps to see what was the big deal. So fast forward to now and he's still broke and trying to finish a master's degree, since I'm so nice and his tires were about to show wires I decided to let him borrow a set of finalspeed's I had sitting in the garage with some barely worn kumho 711's. Once I was ready to change them for him, which I figured would be a 20 minute job in his parking garage, I realized what was wrong with his lugs. On with the pics.
Here's one thats in worse shape than the rest, some bendage which I figured could be fixed pretty easily.

He still had all the caps, locks, and everything, only thing wrong is like 2 of the pins are slightly bent.

Now the potential sadness. I'm not an expert on wheels at all but these appear to have been 4x114 from the factory and then redrilled 4x100 to fit his teg, which the previous owner would have been responsible for. The reason that shops have a hard time getting them off (and it was impossible for me with handtools in a parking garage) is there were very short lugs on them and it was nearly impossible to get a grip on them.

So now here's where I stand, this number under the "P.C.D/H" heading has some characters and then the number "8". Most of the time I see these marks its like 100/4 or 114/5 but I'm wondering if the characters mean 100 or 114 / 8 (holes) and this is just how they looked from the factory and I'm wrong. I'd like to be wrong, but the marks on the outside of that 'hub' in the above pic makes me think I'm still right. Does anyone know for sure?

Assuming I am right and these things were re-drilled, (which is insane because they were what like $2k brand new and the guy didn't even get the right size?) are they fixable, are they generally safe to run on the street like this? If they are fixable are they still safe? If anybody has had experiance with wheels like this, fixed or redrilled themselves, I'd really like to hear what you think. I'm going to probably call that TruWheel shop in Hollywood to see what they think, but I'd like to hear some thoughts from good ol' HT on this first
Hopefully these are OK or can be fixed and I can get them all refinished and pretty and run them on the xB... Then the big question will be if I should get the SSRs done, or these volks that dont hold air...

or should I just buy some Rotas and quit having all these damn problems with old rims hahaha.
:sigh:
Thanks in advance

Actually...that is the correct lug pattern for those wheels. I have the same wheels in a 17". I don't know why, but a lot of older wheels have the lugs drilled right beside each other. So no, they have not been redrilled.
On a side note, I need some caps for my GP-0's. Sell me yours...hehehe.....

i think the realizes they are 4x100/114.3..he is just wondering if because the two sets of holes are so close to each other, if it was later redrilled for 4x114.3 at a later date. i said no, that is how my GP-0's are.....
those wheels came from the factory with dual bolt patterns...the number 8 in the pcd/h (h for holes) field of the wheel tag indicates as such (they left out the pcd value). as for not being able to get lugs that work is questionable. there are many such wheels and i didn't have any problems with my set of 17s. you just need tuner lugs that have a narrower socket end, tapered tip to fit the holes and it being open ended. if anything, the smaller 4x100 pattern allows more room to get a socket in there.
