Drag Car Wiring ?'s
I have an '88 CRX with a turbo d (still obd0) in it and it is almost ready for this season, but I still need to do the wiring to the motor and my gauges. I'm still going to use the stock harness for now, but what wiring on the harness can I eliminate besides the typical heater control and radio wiring?? I would also like to eliminate the evap sensor and hoses for that too. If I do this will I have a lot of codes to keep track of??? Basically, I want to wire up the ignition, fuel pump, fan, etc. to a switch.
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!

you can basically remove everything that is not required to run the engine properly.
i only run my dist. wiring, map, tps, 4 injectors and resistor box, iacv, vtec sol., vtec press., and sometimes knock
no O2
672 hp turbo ls\vtec 28 psi

I make full race harnesses for drag cars that essentially remove everything that is not required, modify the ecu to allow you to check codes, etc. and give leads for different sensor pickups, etc. that you want to run. I also add what ever plugs you want in order to run what ever ecu you want. /End shamless plug.
In your case, you can remove many of the mechanical things that are not controlled by the ecu. Everything inside the car can go poof and you will not have any codes. If you are staying pre-obd; OBD0, you need to keep the following:
Distributor, IAT, IACV, ECT, O2 sensor*, Injectors, Vtec*, Vtec press*, knock sensor*, Alternator, map, tps and off the top of my head I think that is it. The * dictates whether you can turn off these functions in your ecu software...hondata, etc.
You can wire the fuel pump, fan, etc to what ever you want to.
