I heard that the reception is greatly reduced when you change out to an S2K antenna. Can you tell me about this....(I'm not trying to post ***** - just wanted to know if there would be a difference).

I truly think it has to due with your location. I've sold 60+ kits throughout the US and Canada so I've gotten a lot of feedback. It seems if you live in a metropolitian area, your reception will go unchanged. If you live in a smaller area where towers may not be as close, then reception may go down. Several boosters/additional antennas have been tried, but nothing has successfully worked yet. Hope that helps!

Perfectly stated; thanks for your complete honesty! NICE to see that. I really do think that the look is MUCH cleaner. How much work is involved in getting it installed?

I ordered one a while back from Chris, took a little while due to the Holidays but good service. I haven't installed mine yet, I'm going to wait untill I install my OEM rear under spoiler and pull my wing off for a full "*** conversion"

The mast usually goes for $20-22 from Honda. Email Mike K and see if he can get you a good price.

PS: Acura MDX antenna is the same as S2K

Install time takes 20-60 minutes depending on your level of mechanical skill. Very simple install with basic tools.

You can get the S2000 mast at http://www.http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for $13.95 . Here is the link: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...NTENNA-SPEAKER

Here is the part number: 39151-S2H-E01

BSQ...thanks for the tip!

The install is very straight forward. All you have to do is remove the rear plastic hach covers to expose the motor. The motor is held in my that silver ring on the outside of the antenna base and 2 bolts inside. Unplug the OE coax cable and out it comes. You have to adjust the conversion kit a bit for a snug fit. Very simple conversion even for the novice mechanic.

I think I'm going to have to jump all over that, I have had the mast since x-mas but have been too lazy to make a kit to install it.

Also remember that the Insight antenna will fit on the S2000 mount.
Its 14" - reception should be a bit better.

Hope this helps,
Demian

How does this insight antenna look like, I never paid attention to the antenna whenever I see an insight on the streets.

Tools required, How-To instructions on the S2K antenna install: http://www.bseries.net/html/garage/s2kantenna.php

sorry chris, my bad.
