94 accord No Spark!?
as we all kno i have a 94 accord lx....2 days ago when i was in south philly i was
driving home and then all of a sudden my dash lights turns off (this was at like
1:00am) and so 1/4 mile down the road the car jus friggin dies!!....i though it was
exhaustion from going to the races and stuff...so i let it cool down...i checked belt
everything, no white smoke, no leakin oil everything is okay!..the timmin belt was
changed at 110k and my car has 145k now. well my friends and i tried everything
we could...the batt was not dead because i have an yellow top $189 bat. the
engine would try to kick over but nothing!.. we tried puttin some intake clean like
carb somthing but for intakes or w/e and allit did was create a big backfire!
The car gets fuel into the injectors but there is NO SPARk...i took it to the shop last
in philly because towing it From South Philly to Newark DE was $375 so we just
pulled it wit chains to the shop....we replaced the whole distributor and the coil and
and still no spark! Wires are brand new but there is no spark at either the
distributor nor the coil what could cause this? it wasnt raining so i doubt it could be
a short circuit because all of a sudden the thing jus cut offf.

You may need a new ignition switch.Ive seen it happen before in a accord. One of the copper leads inside the switch just breaks off its weird.but it could explain the dash lights going off first
take a test light turn the key on and get under the hood at your coil their is a black wire with a yellow strip in it.Ground one side and the other to that wire and see if you have power. If you have power and the light turns on then it means the ignition switch is good but if not check fuses and that line for a short going to the fuse box under the dash.
but if you have a good 12v then try some thing else.
This is to check and see if your getting a firing signal from the ecu.
put one side off the test light to the positve on the battery and the other side to the black wire with the white stripe it may be a blue wire on your car the signal wire will be the one that doesn't have any power to it with the key on testing from pos our neg.It will pulse a negetive signal from the ecu while the engine is cranking still on the plug going into the coil.Bump the key and see if your getting a pulsing light.
IF not that means your not getting a firing signal from the ecu.thus no spark you have plenty of power there to make it but nothing from the ecu telling it to do it.
I'm not 100% sure but I think that signal wire runs straight to the ecu from the coil so it has to be a short or the ecu it's self.
But before you do any of that pull every fuse on the car one at a time and check them.
If both of those check out then try changing the coil

i will look into the switch on MOnday or tuesday...because i live in Delaware and i really got no way to get there tho...but what u said makes alot of sense...last time i check the car last night when i was up there..i turned on the headlights but still no dash lights...and when it first happend my right turn signal stayed on not flashing but it jus stuck on...and i mean the all the lights works....except for the dash cluster light up lights....like Check engine light work, brake light works, and all the other ones work too but jus the damn cluster illumination lights wont turn on...but again i will look into it by tuesday...thats if the mechanic doesnt know wtf the problem is.. thanks for the advice... anyone eles please shoot some advice as well.. this is my only ride..and i need to get it runnin so i can go back to classes this week and work lol...
Oh yeah i checked ALL the fuses!! and none are blown...and my alarm stoped working..its a 5spd and i doubt the alarm is causing it not to start... like my lock and unlock no longer works....i never had the remote start working...and last night i wanted to lock up the car wit the alarm and it wasnt working...
i have a cliford Matrix RSII i think...lol i dont kno if that can cause a problem...because i dont have a kill switch on my car.
