Default 92 accord oil pan replacement?

My pan is rusted at the bottom so I'm going to try to swap it out with another. All of the bolts holding it on are in good shape but two towards the passenger side of the pan. These two are also a little more difficult to get to, so I'm thinking I might have a tough time breaking those guys free. Any tips on getting easier access to them?

Alos, I found a used pan from 2.3 prelude. Were the pans the same from those cars? The guy selling it seems to think so, and I couldn't get ahold of any dealers to confiem yesterday?

If I can get those two bolts loose I think this should be a fairly easy swap just remove the crossbeam member, A pipe and drop the pan correct?

When I replaced the oil pan on my 1990 Accord, I had to drop my downpipe out (the lower part of the header) and I also had to take the bolts out of one end of that cross member and loosen the other end to give it some play to get the oil pan out. When I bought by oil pan, I got it off eBay for about $60 with the new oil pan seal. I believe, but I'm not sure that the oil pans off the 92-96 Preludes with the H23 (2.3L engine) are the same. The hardest part of the whole project is really the cross member getting in the way. Best of luck.

you shouldnt have any problems "breaking them free"... i think the TQ specks on pan bolts/nuts is like 8ft/lbs or soemthing (correct me if im off a lil).. so keep that in mind when installing it...

There is a sequence for tightening the bolts and nuts. Make sure you tighten them a little at a time. You definitely need to get the exhaust pipe and the cross member out of the way, because the pan has to come down a good bit before you can get it off. Use rtv sealant on the corners only.

Any tips on the oil pan bolts closest to the transmission? Looks damn hard to get a wrench in there. Does the little metal plate on the transmission come off somehow to get better access?

remove the inspection plate on the trans, this will make it easy to access.
