Default motor swap obd0-obd1

A buddy of mine has a 94 hatch dx (unsure of engine code) he bought a gsr swap for. He gave me his stock motor (single over none v-tech mpfi, unsure of engine code) I was woundering what the benifits would be for me to put this in my 89 hatch (chumpy little dpfi). It's free with harness, comp, and tranny. I was also woundering what all I would have to buy to make it work. Can I put a v-tech head on it. If so would I need to the dizzy and comp. And last but not least I want to boost a motor, and would like to stay single cam, becouse every body is going double cam, and heard that when you boost a v-tec you eliminate the v-tech function.

*vtec*
yes it will fit and you will bet better off with mpfi (dpfi )
yes you can throw a vtec head on it.
first you will have to convert from dpfi to mpfi
than you will have to convert from obd0 to obd1

You will need to use the dpfi harness and modify that, as well as use a cable d series tranny. That is, if you dont want to weld and fab up a clutch master cyl.

PS, my company does wiring of this nature

Why stay single cam? If you turbo your single cam and dont build it to handle a decent amount of boost then in my opinion its a waste of your money. you will spend around 3 grand for the turbo kit, unless you budget boost, and you will be just as fast as a dual cam. You might as well spend the same amount on a b series and then think about turboing that. You will always get beat in the long run if you stay with the d series...

The motor was given to me, plus everything to go with it. Just trying to weight out my options. Still thinking about doing other things. I wouldn't mind doing an obd-0 B16
The guy that gave me the motor had a 93 coupe single cam that we boosted, and with stock exhaust and all season radials he still ran a 14.8 @ 96 in the quarter. Anyway he said that he thought that he heard that the turbo canceled out the v-tech. Any help is good help. Thanks
