Does the AFB1 mount kit from hasport only allow you to swap in the 1st gen b series motors? Or can you use this kit along with a cable to hydro conversion piece to get a b16 from an 99 civic SI?

I've got a friend with a JDM b16 with a hydro tranny and want to bolt that into a 87 crx HF, BUT....I want to know that the AFB1 kit will allow me to do this before I just start the project ya know?

 

you can use any bseries motor you want, GSR intake manifold wont fit

but you can only use the Cable Bseries trannys, for some reason you cant even use the Hydro conversion that Hsport sells, i think it has something to do with the tranny mount on the Hydrolic trans

You can use ANY B-series motor you like. But you MUST use a cable transmission. So in this case, the motor will work. But the transmission won't.

 

Thanks guys. Do you have any ideas why the hydro trannys won't work? Is there any way to cut/fabricate the 1st gen CRX shassis to make it fit?
