98 early rev limit and check engine

Default 98 early rev limit and check engine

Im having some problems with my lude... i go wot on the car and when i get to around 6500 rpms the cars hits a rev limitor and turns my check engine light on. i checked it and a cyliner two misfire came out? I reset it it was good for a few pulls then same thing? also hppening in 3rd gear? what could this be? can it be a certain sensor?spark plug? wire? distibutor? any help .. thanks

from what you're saying looks like spark plug, wire or the cap, if some sensor is failing it would most likely show up as a code.

i have a 98 prelude base and i have that same problem. i also eat about a quart of oil every 200 miles. and i am smokeing alot especially in v tec. need help .thanks
