why am i going to downsize to a gsr even though i dont have my itr stickers on my car so with my wing gone less people are going to notice that its a type r meaning the less chance of gettin my car jizzacked

No down sizing... just suggesting you get a GSR as a beater car and mod mod mod

Yeah that makes sense... "don't remove your wing... sell your type R, and buy a GSR..." hahah

I just took my wing off and had the holes filled, also the 'acura' emblem on the upper left trunk. It looks so clean now, I'll post pictures as soon as I take some!

However, believe me, there's a reason the wing is there, and if you take your ITR to a road course HPDE you will understand, first hand, why it's there. When you have to stand on the brakes at about 130, the wing really does help keep the rear end planted. And in a straight line at high speeds, it helps keep the car from getting twitchy.
This is VERY true. I couldn't believe what a difference was made at 120+. The rear truly becomes "unsettled" without it...

Although you will find members here who have removed their wings for reasons of stealth, I think the overhwelming vote will be that you leave the wing alone.
Eh. Remove the wing. Get some rubber plugs (92-95 civic front strut tower bar oem plugs from a junkyard work perfect) and plug the holes. Then if you do go to a lapping day, just take out the plugs and put the wing on. This isn't rocket science.

I honestly think it depends on what color R you have. Wingless looks ok on black or CW, but on yellow it really looks stupid.

But like George and Darth said...I imagine it really sucks to do some aggressive driving without the wing. Although I know of quite a few draggers that take them off for weight/aerodynamic drag reasons.
