i've heard how some newer civics have the RF portion of the factory keyless entry built into the headunit. but i have no clue if this is true on the 06' CRVs?

i want to swap the head unit, but don't really want to lose the keyless functions, as it is built into the key.

it would bother the **** out of me to have key with buttons, but don't work,

I havent heard this, but it wouldnt surprise me. 97-98 civics keyless was built into the H/U.

 

If memory serves, no.

 

update, i pulled out the head unit and the RF works fine,

 

yay! now we know

 

and knwoing is half the battle!

 

I checked my tech system and it reports no probs, but you got to it first, lol, good luck.
