Short shifter question...
I just bought a new OBX short shifter. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to install it. I would use Helms but i don't have one. Does anyone have any website that might help on this topic? Thanks...
oh no.... first mistake... OBX shifter?! Are you crazy! Take it back, and save up for a Cs, or even get a DC Sports if you absolutely NEED one right now.

Best and easiest way, (last time I did it), was drop the exhaust. It saves alot of room underneath the vehicle. There are (2) 12mm bolts that need to removed after you remove the interior components including shift ****, boot, console, etc. Everything after that can be "eye balled out." HTH.
i agree, only if the bolts are readly removable, i mean if you can just take a wrench and break them off without ltting liquid wrench sit on them all fday. but if not, you should have no problem with the b-pipe there, ust a little cramp. but what isnt on honda!!
just wondering what kind of car do you have?

very very bad choice. if i were you id get rid of the POS obx shifter. its not even worth installing. i had one in my gsr and the damn thing snapped on the damn freeway ripping my hand to shreds. like they say "you get what you pay for."

I installed my stock (yes, I got rid of my cheap *** short shifter for the stock one) without removing my exhaust.
Stick with the stock shifter and get some stiffer shifter bushings...you'll like it much better than the short shifter.
I'd take longer smooth shifts over shorter (not by much) notchy shifts.

CALI-R - He has a Type-R too. We are actually doing the Dyno tune day here in Pittsburgh on Saturday. He never heard about honda-tech before and didn't know anyone else in the area with R. I told him to go with a C's, and also said the best thing would be to get the bushings. Sounds like you all are pretty much confirming that.
]i think i will pass on installing it for now. i think i will just install the bushings for now. later
