NEED opinions/ideas for resotring metal Nautical Star...PICS.
Girlfriend has this Nautical Star up in her appt...it was a poop brown (like you can see) at first, and she was planning on just painting it a dark gunmetal. I told her to give it to me for a week and ill sand it down and do something with it for her.
Basically need some ideas on what to do with it. I've already sanded down one of the points, but i can't decide if i want to leave it a brushed aluminum, completely polish the whole thing to a chrome/mirror finish, or involve some color with it.

alternate the panels between flat black and polished
or just spray the whole thing a decent gunmetal or bronze

I've done this to same process to the lips of my wheels, definately everything you said, but it does come out nice.
