Default Scary time today!

I pulled into a parking spot today and i heard a loud pop and then my car drops and then heard a long scratching noise as my wheels rotated. I get out of my car and notice that my car has just about dropped 2 to three inches. I get in the car and try to completely pull into the parking spot. No can do... the tire won't turn easy and i wasn't going to force it. So I get out and call my insurance for a tow truck and then take a good look at what happened. My damn lower ball joint nut completely fell off. I found the nut and it was stripped to hell. It even went over the cotter pin. It fucked up my rim too! Well it just so happens that a shop just put in a new axle seal for me. Well they had put the nut in so i tow it to their shop afraid that they would not fix it. That was scary. Well they were totally cool and fixed it. Actually they got me a new lower ball joint and installed it. It sucks that my rim is all fucked up on the inside, but at least I didn't have to argue with them. I am also glad that it happened when I was trying to park and not when i was driving on the freeway with my son in the car. Thank You God!!!!

Peace

No idea... the thread just came apart and the nut fell off. Just happy it wasn't when I was driving on the highway.

Sounds like they might have cross threaded the nut onto the lower ball joint. Are they paying for the rim too? They should.....

my parents own an autoshop.. and i wont name which one, but you should see the things that they do when the customers arent around. once they left a car in neutral w/o the e brake on and it coasted downhill and smashed into another car.
