Default Old CD Player - Problems

My CD player is retarded sometimes. It won't accept (nearly immediate ejection, after an attempt to read) the CDs I put in sometimes, even though the CDs themselves are brand new.

This CD player is old, and came with my car when I bought it - I will be getting a new one soon. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can solve this problem right now?

Thanks in advance!

Oh, also... I think the connection from my headunit to my FM/AM antenna is not connected - I can't tune into any radio station.

Thoughts? Should I pull the bitch out and look at the connections?
