Default help with tranny

hi. i've always looked at this site every week since i bought my car on july 1 2005. i knew i had to buy it when i took it through the first corner. it was just so amazing to me cuz i didnt think it would be that great. i just didnt post cuz i didnt know as much as u guys. my car is bone stock xept for a kn filter. now i need help. my tranny will not go into reverse. all the forward gears are still very smooth but it just wont budge into reverse. reverse light dont even come on. i took a corner too fast and my car drifted on the freeway. could this cause something to flex. but what do u guys suggest. i dont want to spend money on another tranny cuz same thing happened with my accord and i had a shop swap the tranny out but i just dont feel like its the tranny plus a type r is much more expensive.

Does it go into reverse with the engine off?

I doubt it but..

It sounds like the reverse shifter fork is bent. Not all that uncommon. You don't have to replace the tranny to fix it but it may take some investigating to make sure that's the problem. There are lots of people on here that can take apart and fix this who may be willing to do the work for far less than a shop. Not sure of anyone in your area though.. too bad you aren't on the east coast
