AEM V2
I was thinking about switching from my SRI to an AEM V2. The thing is, I'm curious as to wether or not the V2 for the 5th gen is an SRI or a CAI. I know that the V2 varies in filter placement per vehicle, some in the fender well, others in the engine bay. If the V2 truely is better than any AEM SRI or CAI, then I suppose it will be a change for the best. Anyway, I'd just like to know, where is the filter on the 5th gen's V2 located?
The V2 for the 5th gen prelude is a Short Ram Intake. I don't have one myself.. though I hear it sounds great. Just don't expect any huge difference in performance or gains to what you currently have.
Good. The thing is, I want an SRI that is better than a CAI (I was going to convert my SRI to CAI, but I really don't want to deal with the problems that come with them). The V2 is advertised to be better than an AEM CAI, and I don't want to go through all the trouble of having to worry about hydrolock, difficult access to the filter, or retrofitting a bypass valve onto my CAI. So as long as it's an SRI that out-performs CAIs, that's exactly what I need.
