Ok i know its one layer of security for your car. But what i really want to know is (and sorry if this is useless) what do you do with your wheel after you've taken it off. Like where do you go with it, i know you can take it inside where you work or when you're at home. but what do you do with it when you go to the mall or if you go to a restaurant? I'm just curious.
That is the question I have asked, I have never gotten a real good answer, the one that cracked me up the most was, become a poser, get a big fat gold chain and hang the wheel from your neck, rapper wannabe.

whats funny is that i was thinking the same thing... I just want to know what do they do with the wheel in such situations for those that have it. I know you aren't gonna take with you if you're out on a date or at the park. The gym, maybe because there are lockers. C'mon i know there are a lot of you out there with a removeable wheel.

Just like back in the days when you have a pullout stereo you would put it in a bag and carry it around. Maybe you can do that with your steering wheel. I usually hide it under my pass. side seat

see thats what im saying..... theres like almost no reason on having it, besides it looking good. if youre gonna hide it under your passenger seat, might as well leave a note on the dash for your friendly neighborhood thief saying "hey my wheel is under my passenger seat". Besides i dont think many of you want to be carrying a bag with your wheel around.

</TD></TR></TABLE> Yea spin didn't think of that, but your right, it would look ridiculous hanging from your neck if it didn't spin, I bet people would even point and giggle to themselves.

Just hide it somewhere in the car. If you have a grant wheel, they will need a key to put it back on.
I almost lost my wheel when I was going to the mall once. People also look at you weird when you carry a steering wheel with you to the register.

I either throw it in the trunk, or just put it on the seat or the floor or something.
I have the Grant unit that has a locking hub cap. So after I take the wheel off I install the cap and lock it into place, there's no way in hell someone could get the cap off and install the wheel, so I don't care if they can get ahold of the wheel, they still aren't going anywhere.

haha... well, I have an inexpensive wheel (the car is a cheap EF hatch). And I'm married, so I'm getting some no matter what. LoL.
Plus, I have full coverage so they can take my **** if they want, $50 deductable for the win!

If you arent willing to carry the wheel in a small book bag around with you to the mall or out with the girl (like me).....then you really arent worthy of keeping you car. When I go to eat or the mall(only once in a while) I carry a bookbag with my steering wheel, and all the other "detacheables"...you can pretty much assume a stuffed bag. I'll do w/e I can to keep my car.
