stolen NSX
My neighbors supercharged CLEAN NSX on 17s got stolen yesterday. Someone opened the gerage door and found the keys inside the house and drove off with it. They found it wrecked later the same day on the side of a highway abbandond. Police are getting finger prints, hope it helps.

Wow, that's real disturbing to hear, I'm sorry for your neighbor. Insert "ITR" for "NSX" and that's exactly what happened to me a year ago.
If you don't mind me asking, was the nsx taken as a crime of opportunity, or does your neighbor feel his house was specifically targeted because of his nsx? I'm considering buying an nsx for the sole reason of getting away from all of the theft concerns that surround the ITR.
Sad, very sad.

NSX theft is very rare. For one thing, the parts aren't easily interchangeable with lots of other Honda/Acura automobiles, and for another, the car itself is very conspicuous. Unfortunately, as you can see, that doesn't mean it CAN'T happen...

sounds fishy to me, maybe its true.....
but
opened the garage, entered the house, found the keys, and crashed it?
my brother works for an insurance agency and hears this stuff with sports/exotic cars all the time.
either owner crashed it, and doesnt want to pay.
or
owner 'stole' his own car because he couldnt pay.
but if it IS true...... thats a pretty ballsy thief.
stealing a car and wrecking it on a main highway.
