Default Lightened flywheel having affect on ETs?

Hey...have any of you guys noticed a difference in 1/4 mile time with having a lightened flywheel? Sounds noobish I know. but I have found nothing conclusive on the subject. Thanks

I would imagine it is comparable to a light bolt on improvement, pretty much unmeasurable.

Well I've noticed that having a lighter flywheel caused less tire spin on the streets but revved up a little faster. From over the years I've learned that other lighter parts combined with a light flywheel had greater affect in the end turn out. If its a drag car you want as much weight parts as possible but some on the street and you trying to just beat people to the next lights its really not worth the buy in my book only.

Years ago (circa 1995), I saw a 2.5 tenths drop in my et from a stock flywheel to an aluminum one in my all motor crx D16. I ran 12.6 full street with a setup that advantage.

Since then, I have been an advocate for lighter flywheels. The only company that has manufactured the ideal flywheel for my needs is Evolution Industries (909)594-7969. They make ultra light 7.6 lbs flywheels that allow excellent acceleration and reliability. They also incorporate these trick friction plate serrations and heat sinks, that allow better cooling and clutch disk dust removal.

Give them a call...they will give you a discount if you mentioned that I sent you!
